Thank you for attending our education seminars this year and making them such a huge success!

During 2011, over a hundred schools attended our education seminars to learn more about education technology solutions and services, and to understand how Medhurst can improve their ICT functions whilst meeting ever tighter budgets.

Medhurst to discuss virtualisation at Hampshire IT Manager event

Medhurst, sponsors of next month’s Hampshire Network Managers Meeting, to be held at Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College on Friday 1st July, will also be delivering a presentation on virtualisation.

Medhurst staff will look at the ways in which IT Managers within schools and colleges can use virtualisation to provide cost savings as well as offer greater flexibility and hardware efficiency.

The business case for virtualisation is obvious; by simplifying the way computers handle their workload, they can work faster and for less money. It's a discipline that can be applied to every component of an IT network and offers companies the opportunity to run multiple operating systems on a single server. By also reducing the amount of physical space occupied by hardware, virtualisation can provide multiple opportunities for cost savings.

Medhurst cloud solution saves Dean & Reddyhoff £12,000 a year

As one of the UK’s leading marina operators in the south and host for some of the sailing events for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, Dean & Reddyhoff needed a very resilient and flexible IT resource across all of its marinas.

The business case for the Medhurst cloud solution for Dean & Reddyhoff was obvious; by simplifying the way computers handle their workload, they can work faster and for less money. It's a discipline that can be applied to every component of an IT network and offers companies the opportunity to run multiple operating systems on a single server. Through ease of access and greater availability of hardware and applications, it enables highly flexible, secure backups and the ability to migrate entire virtual environments with no interruption in service.

Now, Dean & Reddyhoff has a secure off-site back-up with improved security and more flexible IT services for all its marinas. By ensuring all locations worked from a common Microsoft platform, Medhurst resolved previous complications with incompatible versions of Microsoft Office being used across the organisation and cost savings of approximately £12,000 a year were achieved by installing an improved internet access system. Migrating the company’s EPOS system into the cloud has also allowed Dean & Reddyhoff to provide a faster, more reliable and more secure service to its customers.
