Medhurst to discuss virtualisation at Hampshire IT Manager event

Medhurst, sponsors of next month’s Hampshire Network Managers Meeting, to be held at Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College on Friday 1st July, will also be delivering a presentation on virtualisation.

Medhurst staff will look at the ways in which IT Managers within schools and colleges can use virtualisation to provide cost savings as well as offer greater flexibility and hardware efficiency.

The business case for virtualisation is obvious; by simplifying the way computers handle their workload, they can work faster and for less money. It's a discipline that can be applied to every component of an IT network and offers companies the opportunity to run multiple operating systems on a single server. By also reducing the amount of physical space occupied by hardware, virtualisation can provide multiple opportunities for cost savings.

South Downs College thanks Medhurst for "valuable work experience"

Last week, South Downs College near Portsmouth invited Medhurst to a buffet lunch to thank them for the valuable work experience it has recently provided to the students. Medhurst worked with a number of the students from the college, teaching them how they could be better equipped for the workplace and introducing them to the career options available working at an IT company.

Charlie Baynes, CEO, Medhurst comments, “We were delighted to be involved with the work experience scheme with South Downs College and believe that helping young people to be better prepared for work in later life is very important. As a company we encourage the learning and development of young people and actively work to promote IT as career option. We hope that this work experience has helped these students to understand how IT businesses work and provided them with an ongoing interest in IT.”
